Overflow Filling Machine Selection Guide

Application:
This type of filler is best suited for liquids with low to medium viscosity. liquids with solid particulates not exceeding 1/16" can also be filled. Note that overflow fillers are the machine of choice in handling very foamy products at higher speeds.

Examples:
Sauces, syrups, light gels and shampoos, foamy cleansers and chemicals, water and other non carbonated aqueous beverages.

Advantages:
High performance, easy to clean, easy to operate, expandable at low cost. Offers greatest flexibility at lowest cost
How it Works:

The supply side (dark blue) of a two part nozzzle is used to pump product into the container. When the container fills up to the target fill height, the excess product and foam is forced out of the container (red arrows) via the return side to the original product source tank.

Filling Machine Selection by Daily Production

Semi Manual Production - < 800 Containers per Day
Lowest Cost Choice with limited output.  Best suited for large container filling e.g. gallons and 2.5 gallons, etc.

Both hands are required for operation of the filling machine as well as bottle handling.

Filling sequence is controlled entirely by the operator.

Smallest footprint (floor space) required.

Semi Manual Production - < 1200 Containers per Day
Lowest Cost Choice with higher but still limited output. Best suited for small to medium size container filling e.g. 1oz to gallon containers.

Both hands are required for operation of the filling machine as well as bottle handling.

Filling sequence is controlled entirely by the operator.

Smallest footprint (floor space) required.

Semi Manual Production - < 3000 Containers per Day
Lowest Cost Choice with higher output but not upgradeable.

Both hands are required for operation of the filling machine as well as bottle handling.

Filling sequence is controlled entirely by the operator.

Small footprint (floor space) required.

Semi Automatic Production - < 3000 Containers per Day
Lower cost choice but with option to grow in the future.

Hands are required only for handling the containers.

Filling sequence is electronically controlled entirely by the filling machine. Single cycle operation initiated by footswitch.

Small footprint (floor space) required.

Intermediate Automatic Production - < 10000 per Day
Semi Automatic machine is upgraded to fully automatic operation; Operator needed only for loading bottles.

Bottle management and filling sequence is electronically controlled entirely by the filling machine.

Economy priced fully automatic machine with excellent output but limited ability to expand capacity in the future.

High Performance Small Frame Automatic Production  to 60000 Containers per Day or Greater.

Top of the line small frame base machine used for smaller bottle sizes. System allows for maximum ability to expand capacity in the future.

Bottle management and filling sequence is electronically controlled entirely by the filling machine.

Sophisticated bottle management and error controls allow sustained high speed operation.

High Performance Large Frame Automatic Production  to 60000 Containers per Day or Greater.

Top of the line large frame base machine used for larger bottle sizes e.g. F-style gallons and greater or for up to 16 heads on smaller bottles for very high speed production rates of up to 200 cpm.  This platform's fill speeds competes with rotary systems at a more favorable cost.

Bottle management and filling sequence is electronically controlled entirely by the filling machine.

Sophisticated bottle management and error controls allow sustained high speed operation.
